Improve the reliability and availability of your 7F or 9F gas turbines' critical cooling and sealing air system with GE's stainless steel compressor bleed valves.

Included in the valve and instrumentation reliability packages

Compressor bleed valves are essential components in the startup of a gas turbine. They are also some of the common components to cause trips. It’s a problem that has plagued F-class plant operators (and GE) for many years. To mitigate corrosion in the valve body, we are pleased to offer an alternative to carbon steel valves: our latest and greatest stainless steel compressor bleed valve.

Upgrading to our latest stainless steel compressor bleed valve will improve your gas turbine’s reliability and could help reduce your annual operating costs. Its 4-way solenoid makes it unnecessary to take in ambient air, which prevents moisture and environmental contamination from entering the valve and helps elimiate clogging. If there is an issue with one of the inlets, the unit will continue to run on the other three inlets, avoiding a gas turbine trip. Each valve’s solenoid and limit switches are pre-wired before arrival at your site, which reduces installation time. The valve assembly incorporates all operational parts required, which means that it will not trigger a fault that can trip the unit.

Improved reliability Avoid corrosion and trips, and improve valve position

Reduced installation time Up to 20% reduction in installation time

Increased availability In the last 5 years, our compressor bleed valve could have avoided more than 115 unplanned outages

Proven experience Installed in more than 50 units globally

Key features of the new and improved stainless steel compressor bleed valve

We’ve drawn on millions of hours of fleet data and created a solution to keep you running and preserve revenue. In fact, 40% of reported 7F reliability issues could have been prevented with valve and instrumentation upgrades.

Replacing your hydraulically actuated gas valves and inlet guide vane actuator with electrically actuated gas valves can help ensure long-term system safety and improve the reliability of your gas turbine and accessories.

GE’s valve tracking logic for trip mitigation is an application software enhancement developed to improve TMR robustness and mitigate the risk of unit trip.

Replacing your gas turbine’s exhaust thermocouple (TC) will result in more accurate exhaust gas temperature sensor readings, which will in turn help increase the life of your TC and all associated parts.

GE's latest generation ESM (Exhaust Spread Monitor) improves running reliability, resulting in longer response times to tackle thermocouple faults, along with increased uptime and fewer trips due to more robust handling of failures.

GE’s non-optical flame detector keeps a close watch on combustor operations for the balance of your plant. Get rid of outdated sensors and avoid risky flame failures.

Our reliability solutions are available in packages to help maintain the health of your gas turbine valves and instrumentation.
